shedding, shifting, becoming.

fall always feels like a mirror. the trees let go of what no longer serves them, and i’m learning to do the same.

lately i’ve been reminded that transitions don’t always announce themselves; sometimes they come suddenly, and all we can do is learn to shift and embrace them.

as the year winds down and the air shifts, i’ve been reflecting on the parts of myself i’ve outgrown and the newness waiting on the other side.

this season feels like the in-between… the space between who i was and who i’m becoming. a reminder that endings are really just beginnings.

i’m back to a weekly cadence, and this week headed to @juliet.HTX for their $25 girl dinner special, which includes two oysters, truffle fries, a caesar salad, a small shrimp pasta and a lemon drop or glass of processo. it’s like i created the menu myself.

now for the outfit details - this suit set is years old from target, but serves me so well every wear! earrings most likely are from shein (sorry yall lol) with my red ring from a boutique in cdmx, silver ring left behind by @miss._maya and bracelet picked up from the southwest trading market here in houston. super comfy heels from @naturalizer to top the look off, and i’m so excited to be back to going on regular solo dates!

funny enough, i didn’t plan on wearing this — i actually had a completely different outfit in mind, but of course the piece i was looking for grew legs and was nowhere to be found while getting ready.
 with the clock ticking, i needed to think quick- and with comfort on my mind, and needing to pull something that i knew would work, this power suit moment was birthed.
 classic, elevated, and perfectly chic for the evening paired with bold accessories.

picked this one up a few years back from @target and both pieces get their fair share of wear throughout the year — it was only right to bring them together for this moment.

there’s nothing like creating with someone who just *gets it* beyond the angles and aesthetics. as creators, we’re so used to being a one-person show, juggling every role ourselves. i usually shoot solo, so when @kensthetic_ suggested a content day, i’ll be honest, i hesitated. not because i doubted her eye, but because i’m so used to carrying it all on my own that accepting help felt… foreign.

but i’m so glad i said yes. this day reminded me how much strength (and fun!) there is in breaking out of your routine and coming together with others to create something fresh, something beautiful. i got shots i could never have pulled off alone, and even more importantly, i left with a deeper sense of purpose, being surrounded by someone who truly understands the ins and outs of this lifestyle.

september starting on a monday feels like alignment.

summer stretched me, but it also sharpened me, reminding me what i’m capable of when i slow down and move with intention.

we were kids together. we lost our parents together. and now, we’re building something beautiful together 🤍

not many people can understand what it’s like to lose one, let alone both, parents by the age of 21, but i wasn’t alone. my siblings were there with me, each navigating it in their own way, and we leaned on each other through it all.

the older i get, the more i treasure these moments with them. under the same sky that watched us grow up, we now sit as adults, choosing each other every day.
grief taught us that time isn’t promised, so we pour ourselves into what matters most. family is what you make it, and i’m so grateful for ours.

(and we’re missing our baby brother here—we’re 4 strong!)

i don’t usually open up about the loss i’ve experienced, but grief is a journey, and sharing it feels important. honoring this part of my story is part of healing, and part of why these moments with my siblings mean so much.

as i grow older and wiser, honesty about what i truly want out of life matters more than ever. there’s a difference between life happening to you and allowing yourself to course-correct in real time.
 when you see yourself slipping into old habits, patters, or you’re confronted with similar situation, and you know better — it’s on you to do better.

there was a time when i was afraid to step on toes.
 afraid to ask for what i really wanted. afraid to step into the version of myself i knew i could be — all because i was busy people-pleasing.
 putting others’ needs before my own. making sure everyone else was comfortable. considering them before i even considered myself.

and while consideration is important in any relationship, ask yourself:
are these truly your feelings?
are these your real desires?
is your nervous system at rest, or do you feel tense?
are you avoiding temporary discomfort in speaking up, only to live with long-term discomfort from settling?

i’ve been thinking a lot lately about how we’re allowed to change our minds. about careers, relationships, the version of ourselves we thought we had to be. there’s something freeing about realizing that pivoting isn’t giving up- it’s growing up.

not every path we start is meant to be walked to the end, and that’s okay. sometimes the best thing we can do is trust ourselves enough to say ‘this isn’t it anymore’ and choose something different.

i get asked all the time how i stay consistent with content- and truthfully one of my biggest hacks lately has been integrating moments for content into my everyday life.

whether that’s having specific days where i bring my filming equipment to the gym, or planning a coffee shop day— sometimes it’s all about doing the things i was already going to do, and filming the process.

if i’m getting ready for dinner, i’ll film the outfit. if i’m working from a coffee shop instead of home, why not make it a shoot day too? in this case, as i got dressed to work somewhere new, i decided that it’d double as an impromptu content moment. low pressure, just one outfit instead of my usual bulk shoot day where i bring 4-5 outfits. and it’s been such a vibe - something that i know can always happen when inspiration strikes.

plus, once you film/shoot one piece of content, so much more flows from it.. maximizing my time in the sweetest way.

said all that to say:
1. get dressed up more often, especially if you work from home - it shifts your entire energy
2. document your life. even if you don’t plan to share it, it’s magic looking back on different seasons
3. find your content sweet spots - those repeatable moments that feel natural and authentic to you
